Free copy of Windows 7!! (for a year)… yes really!

Microsofts latest operating system Windows 7 is well on its way now. The company is releasing its first public Release Candidate on the 5th of May this year, with a very interesting twist…

Windows 7 RC1 will not expire until the 1st of June 2010!. This effectively means you can have a free copy of Windows 7 for a year, allowing testers, network engineers, system builders and developers a really good chance to get their hands right in to trialing the operating system, without having to fork out lots of money.

PC Pro (http://www.pcpro.co.uk/) have been told earlier “It’s available to as many people who see fit to use it, although we wouldn’t recommend it to just your average user,” by John Curran, director of the Windows Client Group “We’d very strongly encourage anyone on the beta to move to the Release Candidate.”

The release candidate will feature everything that will be in the full, final version. Although Microsoft still has not announced a release date for Windows 7, it is obviously on the horizon for the near future. Most of us are expecting a late Summer/Autumn 2009 Launch for the US.
